Arrow Season 3 went pretty dark places. There were some deaths, and some of them didn’t stick… at this point, we’re pretty sure Akio’s the only one who’ll really stay dead… even the lead character got stabbed with a sword. So when IO9 interviewed Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim and he was asked what we can expect from Season 4, what did he say?

“It will take a lighter tone. That’s pretty much the only thing I say without spoiling it,” he told the site.

“We’ve been working for about a month now in the writers’ room, talking about season 4, and I think that one thing we all collectively understood was season 3 beginning with Sara’s death, because it’s the death of a major character on the show, it set a tone for the remainder of the season. And I’m not the least bit apologetic for that tone,” Guggenheim said. “I happen to like dark and I like the fact that Arrow is a pretty dark show particularly for a network show. That said, every year you want to mix things up and there was sort of a collective desire on all of our parts to try to inject a little bit more lightness into the show, a little bit more humor. It’s not going to radically change. The show’s still going to be the show but in terms of tone we’re coming off a very very hard season for all of our characters. We wanted to try to mix it up a little bit,” he said. (more…)

Could we have gotten more Harley Quinn on Arrow in addition to those short cameos in Season 2?

Arrow actress Willa Holland (Thea) talked about this subject a bit at the recent MCM Expo in London.

“We had big plans for Harley. But, I guess something came down from DC execs that told us to shut it down. I mean we had that tease with the pigtails and the ARGUS outfit but, we’ll never see it. We would love to Harley in Arrow but it will never happen,” Flickering Myth reports Willa as saying at the event (though without video, they may have been paraphrasing what is said in the paragraphs below.) Ra’s Al Ghul Could Die In Season 3 Of Arrow

While talking about Oliver’s quandary to TVLine Kreisberg ended up revealing the Ra’s al Ghul was not really “asking” Oliver, suggesting that he might not really have a choice. In the interview, Kreisberg also addresses Ra’s surprising turn from “giant, malevolent force” who near-killed Oliver to offering him “the keys to the kingdom.”

“Oliver is completely – as hopefully the audience is – taken aback, ’cause he was not expecting” this, Kreisberg stated. “It was something that [executive producer] Greg [Berlanti] and Marc and I talked about: It was important to have a different villain this year and somebody who is going to be doing something completely different.”

Kreisberg went on to state that the “next run of episodes” will mostly deal with Oliver making up his mind and deciding on a course of action.

But the executive producer offered the most juicy bit by revealing that actually it’s not like Oliver had much of a say in the matter, and Ra’s al Ghul was not really giving him an option. He revealed that the League is “a different kind of threat, because they’re asking him to join up. [But] as Malcolm tells him in a subsequent episode, [Ra’s is] not really asking.”

This could mean that turning Ra’s al Ghul’s offer down might cost Oliver his life, and the only way to reject the offer would be to fight Ra’s again.

The Offer will air on March 18.

‘Arrow’ Season 3 Spoilers: Oliver To Reject Ra’s al Ghul’s Offer In Upcoming Episode

  • 'Arrow'

A new report suggests that Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) will be rejecting Ra’s al Ghul’s (Matt Nable) offer in the upcoming episode of Arrow.

According to the Christian Today report, the synopsis for the episode, titled ‘The Offer,’ reveals that Oliver will be turning Ghul down, although it is not very evident. This seems to be a whole lot of conjecture, and is inferred purely on the fact that Oliver will be returning to Starling City.

In a recent interview, Arrow showrunner Andrew Kreisberg dished about how Oliver (Stephen Amell) might respond to Ra’s al Ghul’s (Matt Nable) offer.

The Offer will air on March 18.
