Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Jason Momoa talks here about which comic book writer he’s been spending time with to prepare for the role of Aquaman, why this version of the character will have to differ from the comics, and offers shooting updates on Aquaman & Justice League…

Appearing at the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo this past weekend, Game of Thrones alum Jason Momoa talked more about his role as Aquaman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (it’s still not clear whether he will be making little more than a cameo appearance or if he’ll have a full on role in the highly anticipated 2016 movie). Regardless, he did warn fans in attendance that for his take on the character to fit into the DC Cinematic Universe established in Man of Steel, there are elements from the comic books which will need to be changed for the Atlantean hero to work on the big screen. “It has to be realistic and there’s a lot of stuff in the comics that won’t work on the screen,” said Momoa. Avengers: Age Of Ultron director Joss Whedon promises that we’ll be seeing “very many” deleted scenes when the movie eventually reaches DVD and Blu-ray; some of which he would have liked to include in the theatrical release.

When the first Avengers movie arrived on home release it came with some brilliant deleted content, including a couple of extra scenes with Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner and Harry Dean Stanton’s security guard which I really wish had remained in the theatrical release of the film. Well, it sounds like we can expect plenty more of the same when its sequel hits Blu-ray and DVD. Flicks and The City asked directer Joss Whedon about it in this video interview, and he revealed that there’ll be a lot of deleted scenes for us to look forward to. Though he stresses it won’t be a “director’s cut”, he does admit that there’s a couple of moments he would have liked to have left in the original version of the movie. (more…)
